Abstract:

The collection consists of photographs of the Appell-Davis families and of East Bay Jewish institutions, including Congregations Sinai, Isaiah, Beth El, and Beth Abraham (in various locations in the greater San Francisco area) and of Oakland and Richmond Jewish community centers. It also contains a history of Jewish life in Oakland, from 1875 to 1951, as well as an award plaque.
